Ronald McDonald Family Room
Offering a place to rest and regroup at the hospital
Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region supports 16 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms throughout Philadelphia, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey. Often steps away from a pediatric or intensive care unit, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms offer a place to rest and regroup right at the hospital, just moments away from their sick child. Research shows that a family presence in the hospital helps children heal faster and cope better. Staying close by allows parents to better communicate with their child’s medical team and improves adherence to complicated treatment plans.
Our Family Rooms operate with the help of volunteers who staff and monitor each room, with operating hours varying based on the individual needs of each hospital. With the help of monetary and supply donations, we are able to stock food, travel-sized toiletries and buy or replace furnishings, toys, books, videos, and other items as the need arises.
